Honors Abroad: Khanna Lab Researchers Recognized at International Neuropeptide Conference

We’re delighted to celebrate the achievements of Dr. Heather Allen and Dr. Tyler Nelson of the Khanna Laboratory, who were honored for their exceptional research at a major international conference in Innsbruck, Austria. Their awards highlight the global impact of the lab’s work and reflect the dedication and innovation they bring to the field of pain and neuropeptide research.

We are so proud to share that two members of the Khanna Laboratory were honored for their outstanding scientific contributions at the 14th International NPY-PYY-PP and 4th International Galanin and Related Peptides Research Conference, held July 14–17, 2025, at the Medical University of Innsbruck in Austria.

Dr. Heather Allen received the Best Oral Presentation Award, recognizing her excellence in communicating complex research with clarity and impact. Her presentation stood out among a competitive field of international scientists, reflecting both the rigor and relevance of her work.

Dr. Tyler Nelson was awarded the Young Investigator Award, a distinction given to promising early-career researchers who demonstrate exceptional potential in advancing the field. His contributions to neuropeptide research and pain mechanisms were highlighted as innovative and forward-thinking.

This joint conference, hosted by the Austrian Neuroscience Association and the International Society of Bioactive Peptides, brought together leading experts in neurobiology, endocrinology, and pain research. Topics ranged from molecular mechanisms to therapeutic applications of peptides such as NPY, PYY, PP, and galanin. The event served as a forum for collaboration and discovery, with a strong emphasis on translational science.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Allen and Dr. Nelson for these well-deserved honors. Their achievements reflect the strength and dedication of the Khanna Lab and its commitment to advancing pain research through cutting-edge science.
